Shoe Stop

 It’s December and I have already been stopped in my tracks by some shoe designers. I have to admit I’m a shoe lover and pay close attention to what shoes people are wearing all the time. I love when I see shoes that stop me in my tracks. A shoe stop for me is when its like a bad train wreck, you want to look away but can’t. Every time no matter what my lips turn up, my eyes squint, and I do a little dance of excitement. This month I must share these fabulous, yet very swanky shoes with you.

Hat’s andHair-1920’s

The  1920’s, along with a few others was one of my favorite era’s. The reason being is because of one of the most influential women was a apart of it. During this time Josephine Baker was in show business and in my opinion, broke ground in a fashionable way . Women really cared about their appearance no matter what line of work. The ladies of the roaring 20’s made hair and head wear just as important as the clothes on their backs.

 So before 1750 men wore waist coats, as seen on far left. Then after 1750 years passed and they grew shorter to what we know as a vest. Fashion has evolved so much over the years that vest became stylish for women. Today, the 80’s are trending. So jean vest have made a come back. Slap What?

History has shown that in the 1600’s, boots and shoes had a flat sole attached to keep the heels of the shoe or boot from sinking into soft ground. These were called slap sole shoes because apparently they smacked the ground when they walked. Now, in 2014 slap sole shoes looking like theses. I said it once and I’ll say it again,

Mary Jane’s – Now and Then

It has been known that  Mary Jane’s have been around for centuries. It has also been said by many that A single strap across the front of the foot worn by Mary Jane, a character from the Buster Brown comic strip in the beginning of the 1900’s is when little girls everywhere went ham for them.

In the 20’s Twenties they were considered sophisticated. Then in the 30’s, Shirley Temple made headlines with  the white Mary Jane’s she always wore. Mary Jane’s were popular then and still are now. They have evolved in a lot of ways.

NYC, Fashion Week

I love fashion week any where but we know every year New York is the place to be for fashion week. I had a few  favorites and I just love to see who’s in the front row. Hey, call me crazy, I guess it’s because I can’t be there. Well here are a few highlighted moments that caught my attention :
